Hands-on! (part 3)

So, I finally got my top box on Wednesday, which was quite unexpected, and installed it, along with the top luggage rack and the lights on it. Started around 6pm, finished at 9pm.

Installing the top box was totally straightforward and most of the work was removing the box from the packing plastic bag, and clipping it onto the top rack. Then I had to replace the lock with the additional one that came with the V35 side cases, so that all 3 boxes use the same key – thanks Givi for that, that’s pretty well thought of you!

After that, I had to drill four holes in the top part of the box to mount the additional luggage rack. With the mounting instructions from Givi, it was ridiculously easy to do.

Then I proceeded to add the AdMore LEDs to the box. These lights were really planned for the V47 case (and the V56 too), so it’s very straightforward and the explanations on how to mount are – relatively – simple: stick the LED strips on each side, drill 2 holes for the connector to go inside the case, then attach the cabling inside and drill another hole at the bottom of the case for the connector. Then comes the harder part about wiring. In my case it was not so hard, since I had already installed the back lights previously and all the cabling was clear and available to derive the necessary connections from: turn signals, brakes, switched +12V and ground. So that went pretty fast too.

Result is great, and the bike seems so bigger now. Check by yourself:
