Hands-on! (part 4)

MadStad 22" Windscreen

MadStad 22″ Windscreen

So, my MadStad 22″ windscreen came in today. Got a delivery notice in the mail yesterday, and went to Canada Post to pick it up one hour ago. I hadn’t checked the mail in fact, but got a notice in my email too, also stating there would be CAD25.81 custom fees to pay… 25.81? Sounds good to me… 🙂

So, to start with, a big shout-out for MadStad who declared a USD100.00 value for the windscreen! Had I sent the windshield to the US post office in Point Roberts, I may have not paid ANY custom fees, but I would probably have wasted 1 1/2 hour back and forth, some explaining time at customs, the gas for the car, and some fees at the post office for a larger than usual box… Overall, 25 bucks sounds pretty good and reasonable to me.

So, my plan for the next hour – probably less than that – will be to mount the new windscreen on the bike, and then probably ride around to enjoy it, starting with jumping to the Apple store and buying a Square reader that I may need for THIS. Then I’ll probably ride to some of the usual Starbucks with my MacBook Air in the new top box, and then continue working on the new firmware for my GPS tracker.
