Looking at google maps, I realized that going to Key West from West Palm Beach would take me more than 4 hours, and then I would have to either find a motel there or come back. The price of the motel quickly suggested that the motel option was pretty expensive, with a night around USD200,00. Going there and back would be very tiring and I wouldn’t be able to spend a lot of time there, so I came to the conclusion that being hosted 2 nights in Homestead, the last city on the highway 1 before the keys, was probably a better idea: I’d ride today to Homestead, and visit the keys the next day, coming back to Homestead by the end of the day, then the following day I’d start riding up the west coast of Florida.
So I started the day going to West Palm Beach, crossing the extended Lake Worth lagoon, and decided to stop at Lake Worth to take a peak at the beach, where a jet-ski competition was just happening.
I then followed the road along the lagoon and stopped to take a few more pictures.
Then I headed toward Miami Beach, and stopped for a few more pictures of the street.
I also stopped at the beach, and enjoyed particularly the view of a little pink observation deck…
I also noticed at a point I was about to have some trouble with my clutch… It looks like I had lost a bolt and a screw was getting loose… tightened it quickly, but I still need to put a bolt at the base…
Reached the motel in Homestead close to sunset, and went to eat at a nice Cuban restaurant not far.
