Our last two days in Chitré were spent lounging by the pool and logging in work hours, and then on Wednesday, April 11, we did the 3-hour ride to our last stop in Central America – Panama City. We were happy to make it to our next home for the month; however, what we didn’t realize was that we made it just in time for the rainy season.
The first two weeks in the city were spent either inside our apartment or in a shopping mall, hiding from the torrential tropical rain that threatened to drown us if we so much as dared to walk the streets. I’m not kidding (but maybe exaggerating a little).
We’re hoping for a few dry days as we would like to see at least the Panama Canal, Panama Viejo, Casco Viejo, and maybe do a day trip to Colón to see the Caribbean side, but we will have to wait and see. May Horus smile upon us.
